NSPIRG motion fails at the Dal Student Union AGM
A special report by the CKDU News Collective.

HALIFAX - The Nova Scotia Public Interest Research Group at Dalhousie University fought to keep it's student levy at a recent Annual General Meeting of the Dal Student Union.
In a record turn out for a DSU AGM, over 600 students packed into the MacInnes auditorium to vote on a controversial motion that would have NSPIRG's funding removed, have them kicked out of the building, and their staff pay-roll with-held. A total of 455 students voted on the amended motion, 238 against the motion, and 217 in favour.
The results may be a victory for NSPIRG, as now they are not mandated by the AGM to go to referendum next year. However, this doesn't prevent the DSU council from passing a similar motion in a council meeting.
