In your ear.

Dear listeners,

Listen online to CKDU 88.1 by clicking on the Lo-Fi link above, or right here:
http://ckdu.dal.ca/ckdu-lo.pls
Just allow a few moments for it to load, and you'll be hearing the sweet, sweet sounds of CKDU radio.

If you've noticed problems with your regular radio reception of CKDU 88.1FM, that could be because we have recently relocated our transmitter, and are currently broadcasting from a new site under a temporary, lower power set-up. We have applied to the Canadian Radio Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to be able to transmit from our new location with our 3200 watt transmitter, and we hope to get approval soon. The process, however, could take as long as 6 months.

To improve your reception in the short term, please make sure your radio receiver has an antenna. Here's some information on improving your reception from WERU Community Radio in Maine.

Please note, you can also listen to CKDU on Eastlink digital cable channel 851.

CKDU was required to move from our former site on the Dalhousie campus due to the state of disrepair of the concrete tower we used to hold our antenna and tower. This concrete tower was in danger of crumbling and possibly hurting passersby on the street below the building, so CKDU had to move with very short notice. We are now located at the CBC Transmission site on Geizer Hill in Fairview. This location is considerably higher than our Dalhousie location, and so once our CRTC application is approved, our transmission quality should improve significantly.

If you have any questions please give us a call at 494-6479 or email info@ckdu.ca.

Thanks!
Team CKDU.
