Last night around 70 members of the Halifax community gathered at Saint Matthew's United Church for a meal and roundtable discussion on homelessness. The conversation was lively, engaging, insightful and called on our community and communities across Canada to take action against Homelessness. It was a conversation that shared the concerning realities of our city's most marginalized people but also the resistance being forged through action and organizing taking place in Halifax against homelessness and poverty.

Thank you to the partners of the 2014 Homelessness Marathon: Food Not Bombs, The Loaded Ladle, Old School Doughnuts, Coburg Coffee, South House Sexual and Gender Resource Centre, Stepping Stone and Saint Matthew's United Church.
Thank you to Jean Kettering who did an amazing job facilitating our discussion and to all who came out and shared their thoughts and perspectives on homelessness. If you missed our community discussion or any other part of the radio marathon you can download all or a portion of the braodcast from the archives at www.ckdu.ca
A very, very large thank you to all our volunteers who made the Marathon possible. We couldn't have done it without all the folks who helped out with making food, washing dishes, setting up chairs and tables, figuring out tech stuff, promoting the Marathon and generally ensuring all attendees had a nice meal and could participate in a live, national discussion.
