The Jazz Festival has kicked into full gear!
CKDU has been having a blast experiencing all the diverse talent the festival has to offer. De La Soul was an energetic hip hop show despite the absence of Two Plug, Ali Shaheed Muhammad made us all feel beautiful with his melodic tracks and soulful beats, the Dan Weiss Trio provided an intimate jam session with wild drumming and coexistent chanting, and NOMO was a dance party that brought us back to our roots in a free for all of passion.
And that's only the beginning! Listen to the Dark End of the Street tonight, Monday July 12, from 9:00-10:30pm to hear Lamont McLachlan interview world renowned jazz artist, Peter Van Huffel. Don't miss this discussion with the visiting Canadian European festival performer! Check out his concert on Tuesday July 13 at the Imperial Ballroom at 8:00pm with Owen Howard's Drum Lore. He is also giving a free artist talk today at 5:00pm at 1313 Hollis.
So much music- we love it! If you haven't made it out to any of the shows yet.. DO IT! Or else listen to our live concert archives to find out what your missing! Check it out at www.concerts.ckdu.ca
