12 Annual Homelessness Marathon coming to CKDU on Wednesday, February 26!

The Homelessness Marathon is an annual live radio event which broadcasts nationally all night, coast to coast to coast, to raise awareness of homelessness in Canadian communities. The twelfth annual Homelessness Marathon is being produced out of community radio station CJSR in Edmonton and will be broadcast by dozens of campus and community stations across Canada in the evening and overnight of Wednesday, February 26 – Thursday, February 27 (from 7pm to noon) airing on CKDU 88.1fm or streaming live from www.ckdu.ca). Different cities are highlighted each hour and a live panel of speakers and performers from Halifax will be part of the national broadcast.

CKDU will be hosting a community event at Saint Matthew's United Church (1479 Barrington Street) on the night of Wednesday, February 26 so people can gather together to listen to the broadcast, contribute their thoughts, share in a free meal and enjoy some live entertainment. This event will be from 7pm- midnight, open to everyone and is free of charge. Learn more at http://cjsrnews.com/homeless/
